Excerpts from "Scars"

According to The American Heritage Dictionary, 4th ed. A scar is a mark left on the skin after a surface injury or wound has healed; A lingering sign of damage or injury; Derived from the Greek word Eskhara, scab.
The purpose of this book is to shine light on the psychological and environmental factors involved in the current and devastating cycle of violence, fear, pain, and hopelessness within our communities in general, and within the youth communities in particular. The lives that you will come to know are real, the names have been changed to protect the innocent and the guilty.

Rat, tat tat. Boom, boom boom was all that Lil G heard before the .40 cal bullets ripped through his body. It is said that your whole life flashes before you die. Lil G would watch his life's movie unfold for three minutes, but it would seem like an eternity (another black youth shot dead on Chi-towns mean streets). Lil G was born Walter Eugene Smith on June 16th 1990, the same day Tupac Shakur was born. Walters mother was fifteen year old Jada Smith, who became pregnant by her mothers molesting ass brother Smitty.
When Jada was born her father was on the rise in the drug trade, the major hood hustle of choice even though everyone who chooses it dosent get paid. At age 17 Willie had the maturity and intelligence comparable to a fortune 500 CEO, but he was a seasoned criminal and a killer. He began learning early about the virtues of loyalty and respect from his uncles who were real O'Gs that valued family and community above all else, some of Larry Hoovers finest.
